Plan your spontaneity
Is it just me or does anyone else dream of the idea of being whisked away on a trip with all the details planned and all of the arrangements made? A spontaneous, throw a few things in a bag and escape the world…together…for just a bit.
I mean I watch reality tv…I see it happen every episode.
And yet, in all my years, I’ve just never experienced that sort of spontaneity. Each time I see a different housewife jet setting to a beautiful island with a moment’s notice, I wonder, “Gosh, how did they get all the kids carpools covered with such short notice and how cool that their dog sitter happened to be free at the exact right time”. Well the reality, to the not so real show, is that the only way to be spontaneous is to plan for it.
Which yes, I realize can sound like a total buzzkill. But the only way you’re ever going to find time to be spontaneous is if you plan for it!
Put it on the calendar, block out the time, make the necessary arrangements AND then you get to be as spontaneous as you want.
You don’t have to plan every (or any) details on what the two of you are going to do during your spontaneously amazing day(s) together. You just need to plan it enough so it will actually happen.
Don’t let the frustrations of not being able to be spontaneous stand in the way of you planning a wonderful afternoon (or more) of spontaneity. Take the time to pick a date, offload your responsibilities and get to being spontaneous…together.
You so got this.
