Kindling

Every good fire starts with an ample amount of kindling and every good relationship thrives with a healthy amount of the little stuff. The daily conversations about mundane topics, the back n’ forth that keeps you two connected.

And quite honestly, you have to build a base to really get things rollingYou can’t dive into emotionally intense conversations if there is no foundation to launch fromThe big conversations…about hurt or repairs…need to be supported by all the work you put into all the other parts of your relationship

And just like a roaring fire needs kindling, it all needs the big pieces of wood to keep it growing.

Not only conversations about what needs to be addressed and improved, but also the dreaming and celebrating ones.  About what you’ve overcome and what you're excited about in the future.  A beautiful blend of where you’ve been and where you’re headed.

Don’t neglect the kindling in your relationship.  And of course remember you need the larger pieces to really keep the fire burning.  Take the time to balance both in your relationship and don’t neglect one for the other.  Let the small stuff get you going and the trust that you can throw the big stuff in and it will be supported too.

You got this!
