It's ok to just be ok.

At this point in winter, it can all feel like a lot.  It’s cold and dreary outside, the days are shorter which means it’s darker longer and your energy tends to be lower and more hibernation’ish.  And yet, the New Year is smack dab in the middle of Winter.  The New Year, where everything is high pressure/high expectation around setting goals, moving your body and creating momentum.  It’s all about the doing.

And all I want to be is being.

So today is simply a reminder that it’s ok to just be ok.  If you’re finding yourself in a place of hibernation or preparation and not in the action of implementation…that’s a-ok.  If things in life or your relationship feel a bit blah and you’re getting down on yourself trying to figure out why your days don’t look like the IG reels you keep scrolling…you’re going to be ok.

This phase you’re in right now might be intensified by the reality of the winter season and is by no means indicative of what the rest of the year is going to look like.

Take a beat and let yourself come back into alignment of what you need more of right now. Is it a cozy blanket and a warm cup of tea? Is it putting words to some of the overwhelm or crushing expectations you’re feeling right now? Is it speaking up to your partner and normalizing that it might be ok that the two of you are a bit disconnected, but you know that you both will get it back on track?

Whatever it is, know that it’s ok and that you’re going to be ok.  Allow yourself to be in the season of Winter…knowing deep within that Spring will always emerge.  The action of doing and the energy of newness is right around the corner.

You got this.
