Falling Back...Together
Daylight Savings ended early this morning, well at least for those of us that are still in a daylight savings time zone. The extra hour of rest was nice and yet I know when the sun starts to set around 4:30 this afternoon, I will be singing another tune.
And as much as I’ll complain over the next few weeks about how dark it is at a shockingly early time, I know I’ll also try and remind myself about the falling back that comes with this changing of the clock.
A falling back to slowing down and reconnecting. Of being a bit more intentional in how you spend your time and where you direct your energy.
Sure, you didn’t really get an extra hour in your day, but how can you use this time change for a bit more than simply the act of resetting your household clocks?
In this season of falling back…what are you intentionally falling back into?
Falling back into quality time together.
A little less time on your phones and a little bit more time spent together.
Falling back into curiosity.
Asking questions a bit deeper than ‘how was your day?’ and following up a bit more on conversations from previous days.
Falling back into laughter.
Being silly. Telling inside jokes. Never underestimating the relationship building power of simply having fun together.
Falling back into gratitude.
Making the effort to acknowledge the little things. Saying ‘thank you’. Sharing your appreciation of and for each other.
Whatever version of falling back you’re doing this fall…I hope it’s done together and with an intentional heart.
Until next week,
~ A
