Soak it in.
And we’re off! We head out tomorrow morning for a 2 week road trip. Well technically we’re flying to the destination and then road tripping from there, but you get the point.
It’s going to be lots of family, a ton of baseball and exploring a part of the US I’ve never seen before. We’re all beyond excited and I’m only slightly concerned about all the awesome together time and hopefully not becoming completely overwhelmed by being all up in each other’s business for weeks.
But my motto this trip is to just soak it in. We’re at that very funny place of parenting where my kids' friends are a huge priority in their lives and although they’re usually good sports to spend time with us, I know they’re budding independence has them looking over the fence a bit. And I get it, teens are usually much more interested in their peers than their parents.
Regardless, I’m going to soak it in.
And as one of my favorite authors says, it’s not so much about being present in every moment, but instead enjoying the moments you find yourself present in.
It’s too much pressure to think that you can be present in every moment. And quite honestly if you were, you wouldn’t treasure them as much as you do. Instead, work to celebrate the moments you find yourself present in. Take a second to step back when you really feel yourself soaking in the goodness of the moment around you. Give yourself pause as you smile and realize these are the moments life is made in.
So as you head into summer together, I hope you soak it in. Whether it’s with your mate, your family or those wonderful people you’re choosing to do life with…celebrate the moments you where find yourself present and soak it in.
We got this!

P.S. Struggling to soak in the good stuff because of healing that needs to happen? Sounds like it might be the right time to connect. Hop onto my calendar and set up a time for us to talk further about whether now is the time to get some additional support.
