Celebrate!

It’s my birthday today! I don’t believe in just celebrating the day but the whole birthday season. I believe in celebrating most things big. It may seem ridiculous to some but I come from a long line of folks that love to gather and celebrate.

And this mindset doesn’t just apply to me and my birthday.

Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, really any milestone in life and I’m there to celebrate it.

The biggest reason I love a good celebration is because we celebrate what we value and I believe that those we do life with are absolutely invaluable.

I know some folks believe that birthdays are overrated and that a number of holidays on the calendar are created by Hallmark and Hershey’s, but I’m not one of them.

I think that life is hard and when you have a reason to celebrate, no matter how big or small, it deserves some recognition.

We can become cynical and roll our eyes at the idea of ‘another party’ or we can put on the pointy party hat, overeat on cake, and take the time to….

Celebrate what you value.

Cook a special dinner when you finish a big project at work.
Take the time to high-five your kid after a hard-fought battle on the field (regardless of the win).
Express your appreciation for a job well done.

Celebrate what you value.

I know the more reasons I create to celebrate in my life, the more positivity I see around me.

Trust me, it works.

P.S. Are you struggling with finding any reason to celebrate in love? Why not reach out and set up a time to meet? Therapy may be just the right tool to get the two of you back on track.
